Postindustrial Media was recently honored with two regional journalism awards for column writing and reporting.
The annual Golden Quill Awards are sponsored by the Press Club of Western Pennsylvania covering a 29-county area that includes parts of Ohio and West Virginia.
Postindustrial founder Carmen Gentile won for his commentaries about COVID-19 and political upheaval in our region.
Postindustrial contributor Kellie Gormly, who also writes for The Washington Post, won an award for this story about solar energy.
We were thrilled that our fall magazine cover — design by Elizabeth Kane Jackson and photography by sarah huny young — was nominated, as well as a food-oriented podcast by Jess Iacullo, aka “Hungry Jess.”
Gentile also was nominated for a story he wrote, “Cannabis Helps Vets Cope. Just Ask them.”
The Press Club received more than 900 entries for this year’s contest from media outlets.
