Pittsburgh will take center stage in the national AI conversation when Democratic Gov. Josh Shapiro and GOP Sen. Dave McCormick headline AI Horizons 2025.
The two-day summit is scheduled for Sept. 11–12 at Bakery Square.
The event aims to spotlight the city’s emerging leadership in “Physical AI”—systems that interact with the real world through robotics, autonomy, simulation, and embedded technologies.
Backed by the region’s industrial roots and leading research institutions, the summit will bring together bipartisan political figures and top tech leaders from companies like Gecko Robotics and Skild AI.
Festivities will kick off Sept. 10 with a startup competition awarding over $100,000 in prizes, setting the stage for what organizers hope will be a catalyst for innovation.
The announcement follows the recent Pennsylvania Energy and Innovation Summit at Carnegie Mellon University, where President Trump and corporate leaders announced more than $90 billion in new private-sector investment in the state.
The full speaker lineup will be announced in early August.
