ICE agents have been deployed to airports throughout our community, making what was already a god-awful experience that much worse. And that’s not even the worst part.

As if $10 slices of room-temperature Sbarro and cattle cars posing as commercial flights weren’t already intolerable, we now have an ill-trained, unaccountable, armed Trump-loyalists patrolling concourses and giving us the evil eye as while we place our laptops and belts into plastic bins.
What’s worse is yet to come.
Because Trump’s decision to send ICE into airports to “assist” short-staffed TSA agents has nothing to do with making the travel experience safer and more pleasant.
It’s really about:
- Punishing those with the audacity to speak out against ICE tyranny in Minneapolis, Chicago, and numerous other cities and towns
- Diverting our attention away from the geopolitical and economic calamity of his unwarranted Iran War (which was waged to divert attention away from the Trump/Epstein Files)
- Most insidiously, it’s about testing running the deployment of ICE to polling stations come November in an effort to intimidate voters and create the illusion that projected losses by MAGA politicians are due to rampant voter fraud, thus creating the criteria to contest the election results.
Don’t think No. 3 is plausible? Trump’s chief propagandist Steve Bannon has already said as much.
Speaking with conservative attorney Mike Davis on his “War Room” show, Bannon proposed using the situation to refine ICE’s potential role in future elections, asking whether it could serve as a trial run for its involvement in 2026.
Davis wholeheartedly concurred, saying ICE agents should be stationed at polling places because non-citizens are prohibited from voting in federal elections. He argued that their presence would reassure citizens by preventing illegal voting.
“If you’re an American citizen, you should welcome ICE being there,” Davis said, adding that it would ensure that unauthorized voters do not negate legitimate ballots.
Bannon remarked that such measures could even shorten voting lines by removing ineligible voters.
This is why Trump is dragging his feet on ending the partial government shutdown that cut Homeland Security funding, resulting in a TSA staffing shortage at airports and an even more miserable travel experience.
It’s all in service to his desire to wrest control of November’s elections.
Remember that.
