Two people were hospitalized following a shooting in downtown Pittsburgh.

Police say a woman was shot in the leg and a man sustained gunshot wounds to his arm and leg. Both victims were reported in stable condition.
Authorities said the male suspect fled the scene on Garrison Place toward Liberty Avenue. No description of the suspect was immediately available.
In a statement released shortly after the incident, Pittsburgh Mayor Ed Gainey addressed residents’ concerns and offered support to the victims and their families.
“We are deeply thankful to report that both victims are currently in stable condition and are keeping them, and their loved ones, in our thoughts and prayers,” Gainey said.
He praised the quick response from EMS and Pittsburgh Police, emphasizing that their actions “helped ensure lives were saved and the situation was quickly brought under control.”
Calling the shooting an isolated incident, Gainey reaffirmed the city’s commitment to reducing violence and strengthening community trust through investment in public safety, mental health resources, and long-term strategies.
“Pittsburgh remains resilient, united, and committed to ensuring that every neighborhood, including our Downtown, is a place where people feel safe, supported, and can enjoy all our city has to offer,” he said.
