Early buzz about the movie set in Baltimore compares it to meet-cute classics like Before Sunrise.

The Baltimorons is a heartfelt indie film that pairs humor with vulnerability, following newly sober Cliff (Michael Strassner) on a surprising Christmas Eve journey through Baltimore.
After cracking a tooth, Cliff meets Didi (Liz Larsen), his emergency dentist, and the two form an unlikely bond during a chaotic May/December adventure.
Both characters, grappling with their insecurities, become catalysts for each other’s growth. Cliff, a former improv performer, yearns to reclaim the stage after sobriety, while Didi seeks the courage to face her daughter and insufferable ex-husband at Christmas dinner.
Their connection feels authentic, marked by sharp dialogue and quiet, revealing moments.
Anchored by standout performances from Strassner and Larsen, the film also features Olivia Luccardi as Cliff’s exasperated girlfriend, adding depth and tension to the narrative.
The Baltimorons blends emotional resonance with understated humor, delivering a story of redemption, confidence, and unexpected companionship.
The movie, scheduled for release in September, was well-received at SXSW earlier this year and is being compared in tone and sweetness to Richard Linklater’s Before Sunrise.
