A recent survey conducted of Postindustrial readers found that the majority of respondents did not think Trump’s recent actions in Iran were informed, rational or necessary.

In a three-day survey of our newsletter audience this week, 67% of respondents said they did not think that Trump should have bombed Iran at all. Another 15% said they thought it was necessary, while 18% said it was too early to tell.
Similarly, 37.5% said that they believe Trump’s intervention in Iran was unnecessary overall, while 40.6% said they believed Trump’s decisions around the mission were uniformed.
A remaining 18.8% responded that Trump’s actions were necessary.
Strikingly, 69.7% of respondents called Trump’s Iranian mission “unhinged,” an indicator that Postindustrial Americans see the president as a incapable of making rational decisions on the topic.
Another 21.2% respondents said it was too hard to tell what Trump’s policy approach to Iran actually is right now.
