Pro-Palesintian protesters converged on Chicago to voice their discontent with the Biden administration’s support for Israel’s brutal military campaign against Hamas, a fight that has claimed tens of thousands of civilian lives.

Though upwards of 40,000 demonstrators were expected, their ranks only measured in the thousands, according to Postindustrial contributor Leigh Giangreco, who covered the protests and other happenings on the first day of the Democratic National Convention.
Giangreco spoke to Postindustrial from one such gathering, where she noted those on hand were largely peaceful amid a stepped-up police presence.
