Postindustrial Columnist and Michigan farmer Mark Yonkman talks about bailouts for farmers hurt by Trump tariffs and how we should be producing better American beef.

Yonkman said America should put more effort into improving the quality of beef produced at home, switching from grain-fed to grass-fed cattle.
He asserted that if Trump is going to impose tariffs on imported food products, it should be on foreign grass-fed beef, while encouraging more grass-fed beef production at home.
While grass-fed beef is better for us and the environment, Yonkman acknowledged that it’s a “hard sell” to farmers and Americans accustomed to the greater volume and lower price of grain-fed beef.
