A former Army general and cattle rancher is once again trying to unseat the Georgia congresswoman who these days is out of step with the rest of the Republican party.

When we caught up with Democratic congressional candidate Shawn Harris, he was feeding his cows.
“We’re back in the race again,” said Harris, who lost to Greene two years ago. “We learned a lot from last time.”
He asserted that even though he came up short in 2024, “people know who I am and they trust me now.”
And at the same time, Harris added, folks in Georgia’s 14th congressional district – a combination of Atlanta’s suburbs and rural farmland – realized that “Marjorie hasn’t been doing what she said she would for them.”
What Greene has done is irk a large portion of the MAGA base and the president for her criticism of the federal government shutdown and threats to Medicaid, which faces dramatic slashing if Trump and the GOP get their way.
“Over the decades, it’s been both sides of the aisle that have failed the American people…” Greene said during a recent appearance on the HBO political talk show “Real Time.”
Harris, meanwhile, acknowledged that Greene has “ moved her position to my position on healthcare” and that the two share the same views on the need to release the Epstein files.
We’ll hear more from Harris in the coming days, so stay tuned for updates on this and other key Postindustrial political races.
