Rex Rutkoski

Rex Rutkoski is an award-winning writer. He had a three-year enlistment on active duty in the Army after graduating from Point Park University. For several years he also wrote, produced, and hosted a weekend talk show on WDVE-FM. Rutkoski retired from his full-time job in 2015 after a 50-year career as a news reporter, but he continues to write on a variety of subjects, including veteran’s issues and music, for regional and national publications. Two of his columns were selected for PBS/WQED’s “Vietnam Voices” Web site in conjunction with the award-winning Ken Burns’ “Vietnam War” documentary series.  He is based in Freeport, Pa.
