Pittsburgh will soon be home to more whiskers than a barbershop floor during a competition comparing mustaches and beards.

The city is hosting the 2025 World Beard and Moustache Championships (WBMC) from July 3 to 5 at Heinz Hall for the Performing Arts.
Presented by Mad Viking Beard Club Pennsylvania and the World Beard and Moustache Association, this one-of-a-kind event will bring together competitors from across the globe to showcase the finest facial hair in 37 unique categories.

From gravity-defying mustaches to elaborately styled beards, the competition promises bold looks and fierce pride. Attendees can enjoy nightly after-parties, live entertainment, and a festive Parade of Competitors kicking off Thursday morning at Mellon Square.
But this isn’t just about the beards—every dollar raised benefits UPMC Children’s Hospital Foundation, blending championship flair with heartfelt community support.
“It’s more than facial hair—it’s a celebration of identity, artistry, and giving back,” said a Mad Viking spokesperson.
Spectator passes are $60 for the whole event, with day passes available for $20. Competitors can register for $80, which includes full access, swag, and bragging rights.

Judges from around the world will be on hand to crown the best in class, while visitors are encouraged to explore Pittsburgh’s vibrant food scene, rich culture, and welcoming spirit.
Whether you’re a beard enthusiast or just beard-curious, WBMC 2025 promises an unforgettable experience.
