Trump is seeking to extort more money and additional concessions from ABC News. Meanwhile, several CBS News leaders have resigned in protest as their parent company prostrates before the president. This kind of cowardice will NEVER happen at Postindustrial.

ABC News finds itself once again in Trump’s crosshairs. He’s threatening to sue the network news outlet again for criticizing his desire to accept a $400 million plane from Qatar.
The Disney-owned network (full disclosure: I reported for ABC News for many years in Afghanistan and other countries) sowed the seeds for this shakedown by previously paying Trump, who sued them for remarks by news anchor Stephanopoulos that Trump was found “liable for rape” in the E. Jean Carroll case.
“Why doesn’t Chairman Bob Iger do something about ABC Fake News, especially since I just won $16,000,000 based on the Fake and Defamatory reporting of Liddle’ George Slopadopolus,” the president wrote recently on his Truth Social platform.
See? That’s what you get when you cave to a bully- he’s not satisfied with stealing your lunch money just the one time.

Meanwhile, CBS News (which I’ve also worked for) seems ready to give in to Trump’s demands for obsequiousness so that the merger they’re working on, which requires federal approval, goes through. This has prompted two of the news division’s top people to resign in protest.
This is all beyond shameful and depressing – companies with long, storied news outlets are presenting their cowardly bellies to Trump and abandoning their principles in the face of textbook fascist harassment of the free press.
Rest assured, this will NEVER, EVER, EVER happen at Postindustrial.
